Push Button Start - Brake Switch
Hey all.
I installed a push button start as per this link: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...n-start-94316/
The issue is I have to hit the button three times to get it to start. I traced the issue to the brake switch. When I connect the brake switch wire from the kit to a constant 12v, it starts with one push. When attached to the brake switch, it requires three pushes (goes through the on-acc-start positions). The brake switch in my 2001 doesn't get 12v power until it is in the ACC (position II) position.
Has anyone had success installing this so it works with one push? I'm tracing the electrical now to see if I can find a 12v related to the brake switch, but I'm not having any luck.
I dont want to leave it hooked up to 12v constant because you can turn the car off while driving which is bad.

I never found a resolution to this issue, so I just lived with the three pushes for as long as I had that system installed.
Which wasn't long. Once the weather gets colder, you'll find yourself wanting to go back to the key as you have no way to control the length of the starter pulse so you can easily flatten the battery trying to get the engine going.
And then after 6-12 months, the entire system will fail and leave you stranded.
