They call it "real world pricing"
They cannot stop you from having it inspected by another dealer/shop, if they wont let you then walk as that is a sure sign of trouble.
A test drive should last no less than 1 hour, if they set the time limit then walk.
That price is high, I think $8,000 is more realistic, no more than $9k, plus tax.
If you buy from a LR dealer you are paying for the inspection and the cost of bring the truck up to current specs.
If it is certified that is, that is the key, certified LR used car.

All good advice Spike!

I'm still puzzled as to why anyone would put a deposit down on a vehicle while still negotiating. Doing so reduces your bargaining power. Deposits are for after the deal is made. The only exception would be for a new car that's in high demand and selling for MSRP plus so, no bargaining needed.

just like the rest of these people... I question the fact that you even want to buy this thing... regardless of the price... but, they are fun to drive... even in pavement. some weird vibe you get. the fact is.. if you are dead set then get it... download the book to fix it and enjoy... oh and if you aren't mechanically deviated.... get a volvo or something. my rebuild with just the heads was over $1300 doing it myself... not including my time and my brothers and friends... I've bought about $500 plus in tools , on top of what I had... and I still have issues. I realize this isn't the same vehicle I have but, you are already questioning a problem you know might be there... man up (or girl up women) and either go for it or get a better car... just my 2 cents

honestly... had /has it not been for this forum... I would have sold this piece of art and gone on with my life.... because of you guys.. I have done a total headgasket refit.. in the truck and seems to be fine.. so far.... it still has disco issues but, the fact that it's making it on it's own is enuff. I paid way too much and got a piece of work...I'm hoping the state police here will help fix part of that. but... I still love the truck...ad the radio works lol

Mud puppy, how high are you? You've dredged up like 3 threads today that are over 5 years old.
