Default Putting In New Springs

Hey i have a 1996 disco 1. I am getting lifting springs that are 2 inches higher than stock. Just wondering if i do this my self do the springs have to be conmressed to get them out and put the new ones in?

It will definitely make your life easier to compress the springs... I haven't done it on mine yet but everyone that has replaced springs or lifted their rides have compressed them

if you take off the sway bars, the axle will drop enough so you wont need a spring compressor

You can also use a bottle jack to get more space. just Lift the disco as high as you feel is safe the put on jack stands then locate a good place to put the bottle jack then just use the jack to push down the axle
