question about 95 disco

Default question about 95 disco

I'm looking at a buying a 95 disco for a really cheap price that needs a tranny,only problem is it's about 100 miles away from me,can anyone tell me how to remove the rear driveshaft to tow it.

You'll need to remove both driveshafts to flat tow it as Land Rovers are full time four wheel drive. I would suggest getting a car hauler trailer to bring it home.

How much are they asking for the truck? Have you looked into how much a tranny is going to be?

tranny and truck are both 300 each,i was going to put it on a dolly because i only have my 95 v8 jeep grand cherokee to tow it with.

A dolly would be better than flat towing. I didn't even think about a dolly when I replied earlier. You can just undo the 3 bolts on one side of the rotoflex coupler and wire the shaft up to the frame to keep it out of the way. No need to completely remove, just disconnect it from the rear differential. Mark the rotoflex and the diff flange so you can realign them when you bolt the shaft back in so you don't get vibrations.

do you think my grand cherokee would be capable of towing it home?
