Question about removal of Auto Leveling Shocks
Hey folks, the previous owner of my Disco2 SE7 apparently replaced the auto leveling shock air bags with regular springs, which is working fine, but should he have also pulled a connector or fuse to keep the autoleveling alerts, etc from popping up randomly on the dash? I think this is happenning randomly because the two rear height sensor arms are also both broken off and probably swinging randomly, setting off the alerts. Should I simply glue these down into one position? What other things should have happenned besides just replacing the springs? I don't think the pump is engaging at all, which is good, but not sure if he disconnected it or its just not functional.... just wanted to know if pulling a fuse or two or connector is what you're supposed to do after getting rid of the autoleveling system, but wanted to make sure because it seems to be tied somewhat into the ABS and didn't wanna kill that. Thanks for any advice

As mollusc said, you'll need to find someone with a diagnostic tool that can change the setting in the SLABS computer from air springs to coils. Other methods can result in alarms and other problems, including phantom electrical drains that can result in a dead battery.
