I'm sure any related misfire will cause the cats to fail in time especially when the engine light is blinking when you drive. As part of the aftermarket cats warranty is only 3 years. Most of our trucks in this forum are about or way over 100k miles. Mine are dead and wont pass emissions since the engine light is on until I change them.

Normally a miss fire, means unburnt fuel is hitting the cats and will destroy them in time.

Clogged injector is definitely true. So even you replaced with new coils, plugs, even high end wires, if its clogged you'll get misfires as well. In my case, i have seen misfire codes and disappear. There is also codes of injectors too lean.
