Default Quick Maintenence Question

I have a 2001 Land Rover Discovery and just passed the 60,000 mile mark. Do I need to take the vehicle to the dealer for the 60,000 mile maintence or is it something I can do myself? The dealer wants about $800-$900 for the scheduled maintence. What do they check? Can I have this done somewhere else or is it a dealer only thing? Also are they're any specific fluids I have to use. Thanks for your help.

I believe they change the plugs and wires and a few other things are done. I agree, its expensive.

Is this something I should have done at the dealer? Or like most can it be done somewhere else? The warranty is up so I'm not worried about voiding it or anything along those lines. Just want to do this right but with as little pain as possible.

Check your passport to service booklet. It describes the service recommended @60K.
