Default Quick oil question help**

Quick oil question help**-image.jpg

Quick question I'm about to change my oil on my 1999 D2 with 120k miles I attached a pic of the stuff I'm using. I just need a simple yes or no answer. I don't want to screw anything up. I've searched every forum and this is what I've come up with.....

Mobile 1 M1-301 filter
Rotella T triple protection heavy duty diesel oil SAE 15w-40

Thank you

unless you want to spend a fortune on additives, diesel oils are the way to go. They still contain things like zinc that a flat tappet cam needs. New roller cam motor do not like zinc so it has been removed from a lot of oil.

Ahh I gotcha now. Still need to find a place that will throw that in for me...I have a sloped parking spot on the street (not ideal) when you talk about additives are you saying just some regular 10w-40 mobile one with some marvels mystery oil?

I use the 15/40 Rotella Dino oil (have for years... since mine hit 118,000 miles)... works in everything and keeps your engine clean. In the winter, since you are where it gets real cold, you might want something thinner.

The oil is fine.
There are better filters, like WIX 51515 (NAPA Gold 1515) or Baldwin B2 for less money.
