I currently in the market for a Defender, but considered a cheaper option might me a Disco, which was always one of my favorite cars. Trouble is I refuse to drive automatic cars. Anyone know of shops that have done manual gearbox swaps on Discos (or even P38s)?

Trying to price a swap out and get an understanding of time/work required. I know that there have been some successful ones done, but to my knowledge, there are not kits readily available and it's more of a one off deal.

If anyone has any insight, it would be much appreciated!

 

Just get a Defender. A Frankenstein Discovery is worth about as much as a non running stock one. By the time you are ready to move on you’ll have to give it away.

Have you ever considered a Series II or III? Much less than a Defender and guess what? ALL of them have three pedals.
