Here is a pic of the one I made.. works great... One mod I had to make recently was to go around where the 1" nipple goes into the T... I used the grey Right Stuff (high temp and handles different oils and coolant) around (like caulk). No more leaks.

That's the one I was thinking of. I would only add that next time, flip it over so the country of origin isn't so clearly visible!

Agree... funny, someone else mentioned that too.

I have another "Tee" sitting on my bench, but as I've learned with the cooling system on these... if it is working... DON"T LOOK AT IT OR TOUCH IT!

I also had that little stopper plug on the top... Originally I had the pet **** on the top, but the hood wouldn't close, so I moved it towards the back a little and angled it upward, and just plugged the original hole

Cool

I wanted to update my progress so far. I measured the stainless steel tube tee that I had on hand against my new motorad 180 thermostat I just ordered from amazon for diameter and amazingly my tubing was just a hair wider than the hose flange on the new 'stat (Pic #1). The stainless Tee has enough room to clamp hoses without the need for nipples or extensions, plus it looks so cool with the brass on top (Pic#2)!!!

That piece looks sweet. The only concern I would have is that there are no barbs or any sort of ridge to help keep the hose from popping off. Might be a good idea to run a bead around the ends when you weld up the nut just for some extra insurance.

Allright guys,
I've since finished building my improved version of the upper hose T section, and wanted to post a pic. As far as after production research, after a week of temperature testing on my system, readings are between 194 on roads/highways to 198 on idle no heat (Motorad 180 thermostat), this being measured by an actron OBDII reader. I opted to use the tubing I had on hand as the walls of the stainless steel pipes were so thin (about 1/16") that they allowed the hoses to fit over the ends with no problems. The tight fit resulted in absolutely no leaks whatsoever (without the need for flanged ends), which makes me a happy rover!!!
Since completion of my T, I've also tackled a rear main seal leak, engine oil change and currently rebuilding my front driveshaft and hoping to rebuild my master cylinder seals this saturday... Hopefully that will be the last thing I do for a while...

So will you be making these for others to purchase? Shady Notax says it might make the Rover a research write off.
