Default Radio map...?

Hi,

Can anyone here explain the path for the power for the radio? I got as far as (I think) as page 86-6-2 where it talks about the ICE (In Car Entertain) system and talks about a code for the radio and shows the links that drive the radio but doesn't identify the power sources it just shows a relay and two fuses...... Mines totally dead and won't power up - is that the power source or this security code thing?

Cheers'

Did you pull it and check the fuse that's on the back of actual stereo unit? While you have it out, use a volt meter and check to see if there is power at the harness.

Default nope, I can't get it out

Hi Stb .....

No so far I've ran with a meter and gone down to the cabin fuse box and found that there is no power to some fuses down there but under the hood all is good!

I have a copy of RAVE but in look at the service guide vs the other one (can't remember the name) it's showing me a pic of a different cabin fuse box so now I'm not sure which fuses are for the radio in the Disco.

I didn't know about the fuse in the back of the radio and in reading the guide it says that if you tamper with the power (ie: battery off the truck) you can kill the radio - so I was also wondering if that might be the trouble.

Do you know of a way to get the radio out without buying the set of DIN keys? I've never even seem them for sale up here - Calgary, CAN.

BTW - thanks for the tips .......

Cheers'

You can use the metal bars from hanging file holders to remove the radio. Just be sure to wear gloves so you don't slice up your hands.

X2 on the gloves. I sliced a finger pretty good doing this. I recommend trying to pull from the tape deck while using the other hand and file hangers to unlock the chassis (one side then the other.)

I've since ordered a pair of the radio keys for about $4 on eBay. They now live in my console.

Default no good so far ....

Hi Guys,

Yep, I tried the file hanger thing but no joy I'll try to get a set of keys and see if I can get it out and check that fuse in the back .....

Does anyone know if the wiring harness will be energized once I get the radio out and get a meter on it?

Cheers'
