Yeah, I don't think my little john boat is quite big enough to cross that pond. Haha. I can confirm drilling rubber bushings out is a real PITA. I only did one like that on my Silverado leaf springs before I went off and found the press at my school.
I do like the rotoflex for it's impact-reducing qualities, but I got the parts to convert to the u-joint for right at $100 and at 3.5" of lift I don't have a lot of faith in even a new replacement rotoflex living a long healthy life. Mine only really started to dilapidate quickly after I lifted.
I've also got to swap out my transfer case at some point. I've had my 04 transfer case sitting in my garage for like a year and a half, maybe two at this point, and I'm really ready to swap it out.

It's not much to look at, but the price was right and only 88k miles on it with a really clean frame. New set of tires should really help the look, cause who needs paint?

My Britpart yellow bushes are all torn up. The kit came with more, so hopefully this weekend I'll install a new set - this time with grease! - and see how they go.
Stupid question, when the manual says "raise front of vehicle" is it good enough to just lift the body a few inches so the weight is off the axles?
I'm looking to just replace the axle bushes, so I'm thinking I can leave the arms bolted to the chassis, and swing them down a bit and pop new ones in?
Thanks France, Jeff! Would you all believe I traded it for a bush hog I found in the weeds? Had been sitting in a field for a hand full of years. Tinkered on it about an hour and a half and drove it home.
Jeff, that sucks on the yellow poly bushings. Question; once they were in, did you lower the truck back down before tightening the bolts up? The weight has to be on the suspension Sion when you tighten it or you'll wreck the bushings pretty quick. And yes, taking the weight off the axles should be enough.
I hate press in bushings. I've never had trouble out of two piece bushings, but I've also never used them on a Land Rover.
Since you've got the two piece bushings in hand, would you care to take some measurements for me? The ID of the sleeve, the OD of the part of the bushings that slides into the arm, and the width of the whole area that sits in the arm.
