Default Random misfires

Hello. This is my first post here. I acquired a 1999 D2 recently and of course it has some issues. Guy gave me the thing so I knew what I was getting into. My rover has been randomly misfiring and I have been trying to figure everything out. Mechanically everything seems ok no knocks or pings, just the occasional tick (sounds like a small exhaust leak). I unpluged the MAF sensor just to see what would happen and saw immediate improvement so I figure that is bad. Had an overheating issue when I got it (head gasket) that I replaced. Anyway, without to much rambling, here are some codes my ECM is putting off and wanted to see if I could get an opinion or two. I figure all my sensors are bad but want to check before I start down that road.

P1590
P0135 O2SENSOR
P0155 O2 SENSOR
P0171 RUNNING LEAN
P1174
P1884
P0118 COOLANT TEMP
P0300 MISFIRE
P0308 CYL8 MISFIRE
P01300
P0304 CYL 4 MISFIRE
P0306 CYL 6 MISFIRE
P0505 IDLE CONTROL
P1129
P0305 CYL 5 MISFIRE
P0307 CYL 7 MISFIRE
P0303 CYL 3 MISFIRE
P0301 CYL 1 MISFIRE
P0174 TOO LEAN
P0102 MAF SENSOR

Oh wow. I don't feel so bad about my misfire after seeing that

Your O2 codes are for the front sensors which aren't too bad to replace. You also have a code for the IACV. It could be bad or could be vacuum leak.

I would try to clear up the sensor codes first, would also probably clear up the fuel trim/too lean codes and possible the misfires themselves.

I have seen other vehicles with bad o2 sensors sputter and misfire and when the sensors were replaced, they ran great. Is this a common thing with rovers as well?

Yup, You have more codes than Robert.juric. LOL! I will start on the very begining which is the MAF. Then, clear codes and see what will show up first and deal with that code. Followed by complete tune up including coil packs, then O2 sensors. Upon doing stuff, make sure all the vacuum hoses are tight and no leaks.

I cleared up a similar mess with mine just recently.
Get a genuine Bosch MAF. The cheaper ones just don't seem to work.
Change the purge valve while you're there. Dorman part number 911-800, about $20.
Replace the front O2 sensors.
Then clear all the codes and see what (if anything) comes back. You may be unlucky and have to change the rear O2s as well.
And check for vacuum leaks everywhere.

I chased all these things (except the IACV) for several months. As you correct one issue, others will tend to crop up as the environment changes. Don't get discouraged!
