Hi iv looked all over this forum trying to find a thread like the issues iv been having so I figured it best I describe them and see you guys think.. iv got a 2000 discovery 2 with the v8. a couple months ago she started randomly running rough while stopped at stop lights which then turned into stalling, and has now progressed to the point where at any time I get up 2,500 rpm it hits what id like to call a rev limiter and immediately goes into what I assume is limp mode sport and manual mode flashing on the dash and the the lights on the shifter flash. along with that it also seems stuck in a high gear, I scan still go into reverse and all but wont come out of the higher gear. I have had it plugged into my modis edge and have pulled a few different codes which I will add later. iv recently changed the crank sensor a while back, cleaned it a few days ago and changed plugs and wires(which I some how managed to do with out removing the intake plume). after cleaning the sensor and changing plugs and wires she seemed to run fine for a few days until last night the same symptoms reoccurred... my mind is now drawing a blank as what I think it could be.... please help I love my disco!!

 

Could be different issues. Xyz switch and a good tune up. The codes is where to start.

 

okay pulled the codes got a few of them
transmission: 23 CAN Message NMOT invalid (flag FNMOT)

engine: p1000(111 reference mark detector fault (reluctor wheel)

abs: 75 PWM signal failure engine ECU
plus iv had a srs code that has always been there

 

What did you pull the codes with? The P1000 can be a generic code from not getting a full reading and that's kind of how the abs code reads.

 

My scan tool is a snap on modis edge. I've tried watching the data steams while some one else drove but as soon as it hit 2500 and started doing it, it kicks the scanner out and I have to back up and go back into.the system and then it shows misfires and low voltage and stuff.. I didn't get a chance to check bc it ha once again gone back to running fine
