guys, do you know what the problem could be if I'm hearing a rapid chime (about two chimes per second)? it's on my 2001 D2.

it would be similar to what you would hear if you engage the SLS to increase height but started to drive off at a speed not intended for the higher height.

the chime just started today, comes on usually at speed (about 30mph or so) and turns off briefly in turns.

any ideas? no dash warning lights. just fluids and oil, all ok.

Yes, it is your SLS warning.
Time to pull out the owners manual and start reading, or download the RAVE manual and look it up in the owners handbook there.

 

Thanks Spike. It is quite baffling, since I went to coil and shocks over a year ago. Terminated the ends to the SLS bags, pulled the relay, and such.

 

It could be the SLS warning, or the HDC warning...could be almost anything.

 

Thanks again. I'll bite the bullet and have the dealer tell me what codes are coming up. And in the same visit, they can shut off that pesky SLS warning light that's been illuminated since I switched to coil and shocks...
