A ray of sunshine!
A month after I worked on sealing up my leaks I get to park all day on the pristine white tarmac of a warehouse on the airfield. Sat there unmoved for 8+ hours and I was very happy when I returned to it. And just for the record, 5w-40 and Dexcool
Still an oddity amongst Rovers! It is full, has 123k on it, and doesn't burn a drop of oil.

It's a good one ;-)

Everything but the diffs, changed the oil but they weren't leaking. Sealed up the tranny, transfer case, valve covers, oil pan, hoses, intake coolant leak, etc...
Teflon tape on all plugs and quality gaskets with NO SILICONE SEALANT! Also scraped off the old gaskets with a plastic scraper so I didn't bugger up the aluminum.
Taking your time pays off.

I agree, if you rush these girls along they will show there true colors by making you do it all over again, but with care. I replaced all engine gaskets (minus head) when I replaced my entire cooling system but of course, there was a tiny groove in my crank pulley that is now lined up perfectly with the new front seal, so I still have a tiny leak. I should pull the pulley and set the front seal back a little further so it rides on a cleaner surface.
