Great info already, but me, l'd replace injector, not swap. If misfire moves with swap...do you really want to pull this thing down again? Buy a new injector (or all eight), check harness ( my 01 was rubbed through in three spots) and see how she does.

The green o-rings in the variety pack at the auto parts store would hold up. I didn't say you have an o-ring issue, although that does occasionally occur. More likely the injector was either leaking or slightly plugged. What did the plug swap show you?

Injector o-rings for early 2000s f150 w/ the 5.4 Triton motor are the same. Usually in stock.

Not nearly as bad a teardown as my Supercharged 4.2, now if that MFer comes off it is getting new injectors.

Thank you guys, I am going to quit complaining and just do it. Can't work outside cause it is going to poor down for a couple days. I just looked we have had 5.4 inches of rain since January.

I removed the top intake and swapped out number six injector with number 4 injector. Drove it 45 miles and check engine light came on . Code P0306 came back, cylinder 6 misfire. I have replaced spark plugs and swapped them around. Replaced coils and plug wires. I just swapped injectors. The code P0306 came back. Cylinder 6 has 146# compression. Anybody have an idea where to go from here?

Only thing I could think of would be injector wiring.

Is it dead miss?

That would be my guess as well. May try replacing the injector plug. You'll have to cut the wire and splice another connector on. I'd recommend using heat shrink crimps on the connections.

Beyond that you're looking at a deeper issue. Something further back in the wiring either on the injector side or the spark side, or an ECU issue. I don't think an ECU issue is likely.

Did you happen to do a visual inspection of the injector plug when you swapped them?

Good reminder on the ecu being a possibility, read the recent ecu swap thread in this forum
