Default Ready to buy MAF

I am convinced that I need a new mass air meter after doing some research or reading of previous threads, with my codes being lean condition on different banks, transmission code,4th gear ratio code, sluggishness and it seems to only be switching to OD at 55mph around 2500rpm's. I read that I only need to buy a OEM MAF, are the Bosh mass air meter that go for around $125 a OEM part, like the ones on autopartswarehouse.com. I want to be sure that I purchase the correct one.thanks,CW.

do you have someone near you that you can swap the MAF with to "test" it out? if you do need an MAF I would buy a new one not a used one. and I would buy it from a reputable LR parts dealer like AB, rovers north etc.. it has to be a Bosch in a LR box

I thought that I was be able to get one off of the one that I got the motor out of but someone beat me to it (it would have been free probably). I was thinking of calling BP of UTAH to order one tomorrow ?I was also looking at the ones at autopartswarehouse but they seem to be a "generic" Bosh MAF. I just want to get the correct one and not have to worry about it,but would like to get the best price.thanks,CW.

have you tried cleaning it with some electrical contact cleaner? that did the trick for mine...I think they don't like dirty air filters.

you cant clean a D2 MAF it will kill it for sure. Dont buy the cheaper MAF from BP that is the wrong one.

I have not tried cleaning it..does that usually work? I am also concerned about the K&N filter that I have after doing some reading. Thanks,CW.

Throw away the K&N and get a proper paper filter, the oil in them will kill your MAF, not to mention they let in more dirt which causes more wear in your engine. If your MAF is on the fritz try to clean it very gently, they are easy to kill by cleaning.
