Vandev computers aren't what cause the DII's engine problems I thought you said it was the lack of top hat liners, get a machine shop to install some top hat liners and you have a bullet proof 4.6, with computers.

I bought a very good condition 99 disco 2 a couple weeks back. It's a southern truck never off roaded 100,000 miles on it for 2500$ not running. So far I have put around 180$ in it to make it run like a champ. Crank shaft sensor and a front prop shaft rebuild I did myself *proud only 5 hours* So far I'm in love with it we will see where it takes me for the money I spent on it I couldn't be happier atm

very nice rig mrquin. Start a build thread and keep posting input.

My experience with these forums so far is the lack of hobbyist and weekend mechanics. We need more threads, more pics, more positive info, etc. A lot of these guys barely know how to check the voltage across their battery.

Let's turn these forums into a place of info and positive vibe.

I have been over at jeepforum for the last 6 months doing my YJ project. It's done and sold and plan to help as much as I can over here once I get my disco II.

ha alright will do. I gave up bringing my vehicles into the shop years ago when I realized just how much people charge to install even cheap easy parts a child could do (such as a crank shaft sensor) I went from no knowledge to a pretty good understanding just from forums and google.

This is by far not LR related but I was able to build this myself (68 vw beetle) just on forums and google alone no other outside help.

Those pictures of the Rover weren't even cleaned up it was dusty and looked like she hadn't had a bath in months. I'll grab some new ones and put up a new thread I have some more questions anyways. I was able to rebuild my prop shaft which I've never done before and change out my crank sensor as well as pull my coils to clean them all from this forum. Thanks for the help guys.
