Just out of curiosity, is there any way to test the door seals other than submerging the thing?

I have never tested door seals before. Maybe you could turn the heater blower on high then go over the door with soapy water and watch for bubbles. I wipe the dust off of my door seals and door every once in a while.

The door seals are NOT water tight, they are water resistant, as long as you keep moving water will not come in as long as the seals are in good shape.
But once you stop all bets are off.

Why didnt he roll the window down before he got out?
And you know if he had skinnier tires he would have made it.

I was wondering the same thing about the window, and thinking the same about the tires.

LOL I about choked when I saw that. I kept waiting for the thing to snap off and smack that guy in the head. I am thinking it will be time for a new ECU after it was all said and done. Do you think it was a diesel or do you think he was dumb enough to get it in water that deep with a gas engine?

I pulled my breather out of the rearend. You might have to push the red piece in while pulling the tube. That kit from AB that Spike mentioned is a good idea.
