Rear axle breather removal
We might need someone to bite the bullet and try it.
Willie, that is right on the money. I found out about the red retaining piece earlier today, and was going to post this link: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=44465 tonight after my daughter's Chuck E Cheese birthday party.
Well, this will keep my wife's camera grease free this weekend. This is basically what I was planning to do, except terminate the breather in the engine bay. http://www.discovery2.co.uk/breathers.html
I don't know if the AB breather kit would fit a DII either. I know the metal valve piece would just have to be discarded. I'm just going to have a try with icemaker line this weekend, and will report how that goes.

McMaster sells tubing. They also have push in fittings. It looks like they use 6mm. I will be doing mine soon too. My front breather is broken off at the housing.

I'm going to try some 1/4" icemaker hose I picked up at the local Lowes. I know the OEM hose is 6mm, but seeing as the 1/4" is only .01" or .25mm larger than the 6mm OEM.... I can use some emery cloth on the axle end of the tubing.
