Rear Brake Caliper removal
Looking for some help on removing the two 12 point 13mm nuts holding the bottom half of my brake caliper to the rotor on my D2. The heads of the nuts are stripped/rounded, I have sprayed rust buster on them hoping that it will soak and loosen them to no avail. Should I cut the heads off with a hack saw blade or is there another trick that I do not know about. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you
your talking about the two 6 sided 12mm caliper bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket or the 12 point 14 mm bolts that hold the caliper bracket on to the diff?
if it is the 12 points holding the caliper mount, there are in there and not coming out easily. get the best 12 point 1/2 drive socket you have and drive it on, you will need a 1/2 breaker bar or something similar, they felt to be well over 100 lbs to me.

Try a bolt extractor socket. You can get them at Napa, Lowe's, etc. They look like this> 9 Pc 3/8 in. Drive Metric Bolt Extractor Socket Set
It is the 12 point bolts holding the bracket on, I will try your recommendation and see how that goes, my fall back will be an extractor socket. Start a relatively easy job and it turns into a full body workout! Thanks again for your help, I do appreciate this site.
Try spraying this on them: https://seafoamsales.com/deep-creep/
This is by far the best penetrant I have ever used. Far superior to Wd-40 and even PB Blaster.

I have tried 1/2 inch socket with 1/2 inch drive and 4' breaker bar, I have soaked these bolt in Seafoam Deep Creep over night, I bought a set of bolt extractor sockets at this point I have not made any progress. I heated the bolts with a propane torch and then sprayed Sea Foam Deep Creep on, Currently I am using an impact wrench with 1/2 inch socket, the bolt heads are rounded and nothing seems to be gripping without spinning off. Have any of you guys resorted to cutting the heads of the bolts off with a Dremel tool, and what am I left with if I do this...how much thread will be locked in the bracket? Beaten tonight, but will be back at it in the morning. Help! Thanks again
Try heating the bracket with the propane torch, not the bolt. Heat increases the size of the bolt, jamming it further.
Of course the trick is to heat the bracket but not the bolt, difficult when both things are touching, and made of steel.
You can try heating the bracket, accepting the bolt heats as well, then cool the bolt with plumbers pipe freezing spray.
You are looking for a heat differential, in your favour. Just heating things up doesn't necessarily help. But then doing it right is a dark art, I find.
I unintentionally started undoing those bolts when I first got the truck, thinking they were the caliper bolts. I know how tight they are. Why are you taking them off?

Not sure how else to get the rotor off, started this job about 3 days ago, watching the video from Atlantic Brittish the guy made it look so easy. Obviously edited(not showing the herculean task of trying to remove the 12pt 13mm bolts)
I didn't have much of an issue with my bolts. Pretty sure my rear brakes hadn't been done for well over 100000 km. I had to double up my wrench, but it did break loose without busting a knuckle.
