I was driving on the highway in stop and go traffic and noticed my rear driver side tire started smoking. I pulled off at a gas station and noticed smoke coming from the brake area and fluid spray in the wheel well and backside of the tire. I crawled underneath and noticed that the connection with the arrow pointing to it was loose. I pushed it back in to whatever it is connected to and limped it home. I have looked through the disco manual and cannot find anything in particular with that connection and the type of connection to the rear of the brake area. I could only find info about the brake line, bolting/unbolting, etc. Question is, what is that line connected to (type of connection) and did "pushing" it back on fix the problem or is it something that I need to repair? I was hesitant to pull it off and see myself...The other side is rather sturdy and did not feel loose as compared to this side. Any insight would be helpful as to what that line is and if/how I need to fix it. Also if pushing it back onto whatever connection solved the problem or if it will become a major problem down the road if I don't fix whatever the issue is. Thanks!

What you have is a bad axle seal and or a bad wheel bearing.. Most likely the seal. (Rubber ring between the bearing and the axle housing. The fluid is differential fluid
The item you pointed out is the a.b.s. Wiring harness conduit ( it is not a item that can leak - just the exit point of the fluid leak) minor pushing /pulling should not have any real effect.
You definitely need to get it fixed,
Search wheel bearing/hub replacement. Nothing hi tech . You can do it if you are at all handy.
