Your headlights MUST be on for the rear fogs to work.

A UK buddy once told me that all UK cars have to have these by law...

Anybody have a good suggestion on a good bulb to replace this with? Seems like I have replaced them 2 or 3 times already and one is shot again... What bulb number is it? And is there a LED option available?

Mine were very useful lately: was driving in deep powder at -18c. The whole back end was packed with snow, including the tail lights. But the fogs put out more heat, so they were melting. Far better than being dark in a snowstorm.

Also a nice addition when you are being tailgated at night.

Maybe the gasket between the bulb holders and the lens assembly is bad?

So I'm assuming the rear fogs was a standard thing? Mine has no front fogs, but has a front for switch....which doesn't click.

Rear fogs are there and work.

Found it kind of odd it'd have rears but not fronts.

Yes, all Discos have rear fogs from the factory. And all but the base models (and even SOME of those) had front fogs. It's surprising that you'd have a front fog button but no front fogs. You could add them. You might need someone to change a setting in the body control unit though.
