Rear bumper RED/AMBER lens question
I recently replaced the rear bumper on my 2000 DII. This isn't the first time I've asked myself this question. There are bulbs in both the red part and amber part of the lens. Now I know the amber is for the turn signal. I have no idea what the red part is for. I have turned on the hazards, that's not it. I have hit the brakes, that's not it. I have turned on the headlights/running lights, that's not it.
Can anyone tell me what they are?
Thank you,
Scott

Hopefully the rear fogs keep someone from rear-ending you in all the fog in England. I also used them on dusty trails to keep the guy behind me from getting too close in the dust. I took my rear fogs out now, and use mine in the tail light loop, and changed the bulb to match the tail light, so it is not as bright as a brake light as it is from the factory when used as the rear fog. I also, replaced the amber/red with '03/'04 clear/red lens when I broke one of mine. Moved the backup lights to the new clear bumper lights, and put amber bulbs up top and re-routed the turn signals to the upper clear lens, now with amber bulbs, for turn signals. Basically now it functions like an '03/'04 except with added bumper lights now when I have my tail lights on.
I am going to use the rear fog light switch as one of the switches to run my roof lights, when I get them wired up.
