Default Rear Diff fluid

Just witlling away at my 90000 mile service still. So far I have seafoamed through the pcv hose, changed engine oil, front and rear diff and transfer case lube. I have drained tranny pan and refilled. (by the way its a 2000 disco II w/ 86000) My question is when I changed the rear diff fluid it was starbucks milky like the other post said. I drianed it for about a half hour. Should I change it again in 10000 miles or so to helpflush that stuff out? Frontdiff and transfer case were considerably better. Another question: If I switch from reg. dot 4 brake fluid and move to a synthetic brake fluid can i just drain and refill then bleed without any special considerations? Thanks again guys.

You had water get in the diff.
I would change it in 1000 miles oil is cheaper than gears.
On the brake fluid on the Disco II I don't know.
I do know that the brake fluids will mix with no problem, you just wouldn't get
the full $ worth out of the syn brake fluid with out changing it all.

On your rear diff, check your vent tube, make sure it is still hooked up and stretched up as high as it will go, otherwise you may get water in the diff again.
For brake fluid, use Dot 4 or synthetic.
When you refillef your tranny, did you recheck and add extra fluid while the engine was running, if not you need to do so when the tranny is warm and the engine is running or you will not get the full amount of fluid back in.

mike,
vent tube is good. idid add a little extra fluid when running but it wasn't much. Whats the trick to doing that any faster? I justused this bottle top pump and it took for ever. Is there a specific gear in the rear end that wears more than others. The magnets on theplugs were all coated lightly with metal dust.

The factory puts a 80/90W synthetic gear oil in both diffs and the t/case.
A little metal on the magnetic plug in normal
I usually buy the bottle with the points caps that I can hook a hose on to, makes it pretty easy to squeaze the bottle and get the fluid in.
