Default Rear Door Subwoofer Bad Sound

My subwoofer on the rear door makes a terrible rattling sound. Is it dead?

If you inspect the speaker, you'll likely notice that the paper cone has cracked along the "rubber" edge. Time for a new sub. For the time being, if you go ahead and rip off the paper cone - it'll stop that annoying rattle until you get around to replacing it. Your bass won't be as deep, but that's small beans compared to that annoying rattle. No suggestion on replacement brand. Take one of em out and goto your local Indy car stereo shop for the right size. They're dirt easy to remove.

X3 on the blown speakers. I am having the same issue. I have my speakers removed waiting to find a good replacement. Can't find a good pair of dual voice coil 6.5" woofers.

are they 6.5" on the DII? From the looks of them I knew they had to be 6 or 6.5

I measure 6.5" from my DI. 6.5" is also a standard speaker size.

I've never seen speakers do this on their own before, unless you obviously blow them. Either it's cheap material or the dude before me was playin' Lil Wayne too loud.

Find a decent pair of dual voice coil 6.5" woofers and I'll buy you a beer. I'm too scared to buy a single voice coil set as I do not want to lose base. I'm not saying it would, but I'm not saying it wouldn't either.

I saw bighorn sheep today at Garden of the Gods. Enjoy!

Oh and if you ever wonder how those sheep handle those sheer cliffs with no fear of heights, let's just say it takes a big set of *****!

Has anyone here replaced these speakers with anything other than the originals?

Kicker makes some pretty tough speakers, too...
