These look like a decent replacement. http://www.lanzar.com/itempage.asp?model=MAXP64
I've never been a Lanzar fan but at least they are the correct fit/size and are dual voice coil. I'm not looking to win a sound off, I just want my base back. I could only find one review of this speaker off of amazon.com. 4/5 stars. If I purchase these I will follow up with a review and let you guys know.

I had the same thing happen in my DI. I bought two JL Audio W0 subs and was going to add a nice amp to drive them. AFter realizing that I might have wire issues, I found a set of subs out of a newer DII. Bought them for $20 installed them and they sound great. Still have the JLs in the boxes, haven't figured out where to put them......PHil

See I have the stock amp. Each speaker has 4 wires going to it and from what I understand that means these stock speakers are dual voice coil. If you look closely at the Lanzars I have shown they also have 4 connections (dual voice coil).
Single voice coil speakers only have two wires going to them. I'm worried if I get a set of single coil speakers (like those kickers) I may lose base. I have no idea. Not to mention I wouln't know how to wire it. Does that make any sense?

idk, i dont have a stock system, couldnt tell u... does it say on the amp. anywere...?
and you wont lose bass with those kickers, they would certainly handle the full out put of the amp, theyre rated for 300 watts each... unless your amp.is a 1000 watt i doubt that youll lose bass. if anything, should get more bass and then u just tune your amplifier to the subs.
