Need to repair a rust spot in the right rear door jamb. It will necessitate cutting out the rust area and welding in new steel. Is the outer wheel well an actual fender liner, or is it a spray on finish?

I want to have all materials on hand when I do the project.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!

 

Following, as I have the same issue in the exact same place.

 

Dunno....But there is a kiwi youtuber "Croker Vs Rover" that has a whole series that is mostly rust repair on a Disco 1. He is pretty good at explaining what he is using any why, and tries hard to be as OEM as possible in materials, unless there is a very good reason not to. Might be worth a watch if you haven't seen it. He also may reply to a message if you asked. (For all I know he is a member here.)

 

As a Kiwi myself, I'd hope he'd respond! Might have to use a few code words to be sure he knows.
