Rear Fuel Smell and Two Shot Start
Hey fellas, have a weird issue with the Landie recently. I'm getting a pretty strong fuel smell from the rear of the vehicle. Today when I went to start the car, it did not fire on the first crank (~8-10 sec). After I stopped and cranked it a second time, it fired right up and ran as usual. Any idea what this might be? Where should I start checking?
The obvious culprits seem like fuel pump or maybe lines/seals/fittings?
Thanks!

Sounds like a fuel leak at the fuel pump. You are loosing pressure so it takes 2 attempts to start (builds fuel pressure up again). I’d lift the carpet, remove the inspection plate, and check fuel lines/fuel pump assembly.
I've ordered a new retaining ring and giant tank seal.
I can't find any info on the seals that fit on the lines. Are they just oetiker clamps or is it something exotic.
Thanks!
