Rear jump seats in 2003 SE7
So last night I tried to take the seats out of my rover to make more room in the back. Which when tried to take one of the jump seats out, the bolts on the top would start turning and then turn freely and not come out anymore. Is there a nut in the back on these bolts? And if so how the heck do you get to them? I pulled off the vent looking cover next to the seats and I could not get my hand near where the bolts went in to check for a nut.

I did the reverse and put seats in my SE. When we cut away the back panels we saw Land Rover had welded 4 nuts to a metal bracket that you put the bolts into. It is possible the weld on one of yours snapped. If its one of the front ones you might be able to get to it by taking out the back seat and removing most of the panel. I know its a ton of work.
Good luck!

I have both removed (donor vehicle) and installed rear jump seats along with all of the brackets, etc. On the left (2000 Disco) jump seat...the seat was bracketed to a cross-member bar. The right was bolted directly to the frame. I believe the bolts to the cross-member attach to a fixed nut on the back of that cross member. All should simply (although removing that spring-loaded plate is somewhat difficult) come off. Most likely you will have to remove the lower plastic moulding to get behind that plate.
SE-7 conversion is not difficult...but recommend a 'donor' vehicle so all the brackets can be salvaged. No welding required...only cutting is in the carpet.
