I will post this as it may help someone else. If your rear license holder fails because the inserts that hold the screw into the rear door fail it is an easy fix.
Remove the license plate and holder.
Put the screw in to the remaining insert and tighten the insert should not turn if it does you may have to drill it out. Be careful your sub is right behind it
Clean up around the holes and prime and seal if required - the most time consuming part
Using a M5 x .8 nutsert, aluminum is best
Do not buy a nutsert tool, use a correct sized bolt and 1 size up nut. The nut goes between the nut head and nutsert Nut is 10mm bolt 8mm. Hold the nut and tighten the bolt once the bolt is tight (beyond hand tight),you are done do not over tighten. It is hard to explain but you will know.
Put some sealant around the nutsert, one the lip and a bit on the inside - these go right through you and to prevent water getting in your door.
Add some sealant to the underside of the license plate holder where it covers the nutsert
Attach the license plate holder
I added sealant around the bolt heads that hold the license plate holder in place as well
Attach your license plate
Original nutsert on the left New on on the right Top view of the nutserts, the original is closed All the tools required Just above the wrench is the bolt and nut used to set the nutsert in place Nutserts in place silicone added Silicone applied to the License plate holder Holder in place and silicone around the bolt heads
