I BOUGHT AN 05 LR3 IN THE STATES AND MY REAR PLATE DOSE NOT FIT THE HOLES ON THE LR AARE TO WIDE I HAD TO DRILL A NEW HOLE IN MY PLATE ANYONE ELSE HAD TO DO THIS? I RAN A CHECK AND IT WAS PURCHASED NEW IN KANSAS BUT ALL PLATES IN THE US HAVE THE SAME SPACE BETWEEN THE HOLES. AND HOW DO I KNOW IF I GOT THE HEAVY DUTY PKG. 05 LR3 -7 V8

 

That is wierd about the license plate...no explanation. If you have the NAV system, I believe you can look at 4x4 information on screen, and by changing the terrain response to one of the offroad modes, you can see a lock where the rear diff is.

I am trying to remember, and I believe the Heavy Duty Package included a full size spare. Normaly if you have a full size spare under your LR3 then it came with the heavy Duty Package; assuming the previous owner did not change the factory spare for a full size after purchase.

 

thanks ill check the spare, anyone find the license plate spacing is to wide for their plate on the back mine is to wide almost like it was drilled and taped for an euro plate.

 

Must say, you are the first person I have ever heard of that got Euro plate holes state side. I know of people who got Discovery 3 owner manuals in their state side LR3's. I aquired one of them as a suvenier.

 

i called the dealer it was only an option on the hse for the hd pkg and it is like 3k just for the rear diff said it would be crazy expesive to gt it all switched over
