Default Rear view mirror removal?

2003 S Disco. Has anyone removed a stock rear view mirror? I can't seem to figure it out and don't want to crack the glass any further. I need to get to a small interior crack that started behind the mirror before it spreads on this newer windscreen.

Thanks!

simply pull down and the mirror will slide off the mount. if you need to take the metal mount off (id advice against it) heat it up with a heat gun to loosen the adhesive. To re attach the bracket you'll need to find some loctite 319... nothing else works well for this

I tried pulling both up and down. Maybe I need to try being even more inline with the curvature of the glass? There's no tabs or clips? Thanks.

yep follow the curvature and you'll be golden. don't be afraid to get rough with her. I work at a glass shop, some of these are just stubborn
