Just replaced my broken rear view mirror on my 99 D2 with a mirror from a later model year (the new one has home link on the mirror as opposed to the roof buttons. The wire colors were different so I thought I would post the connections here in case anyone was looking in the future.

The black wire on the truck connects to the black wire on the mirror, the white wire on the truck connects to the green/white wire on the mirror, and the grey wire on the truck connects to the green/brown wire on the mirror.

The physical connection was still the same so the old one pulled right off and the new one slid right on.
