Default Reason Why Your OEM Front Drive Shaft...

...NEEDS replacing ASAP. Installed my new Lucky 8 front drive shaft today and look what I found on my factory DS...

It appears to be a crack in the housing for the centering ball. I've only had the Disco for a week and I'm glad I went ahead and swapped. All because of this forum!

If I'm not mistaken, that's rubber. There's a rubber piece that surrounds the center ball to hold the grease in... its still a good thing you swapped to a serviceable one though.

HA, well it wasn't going to hold grease for much longer.
