What does the manufacturer have to say about it?

they said they spin em over 3000 rpms, but there's a chance that their driveshafts will vibrate at high speeds because they're so heavy.

very very nice people, and without question they sent me a 2nd shaft.

my experience suggests that people who drive on the highway lots should not use a Tom Woods. Their primary design is for heavy duty applications.

Fair enough, guess I got lucky with mine. I drive about 25 miles a day on a highway that is 65 mph speed limit and generally drive at 75-80 mph and have not felt any wobble.

i just want to say about the Tom Woods, i had the vibration at 75 for as long as ive had it in, until recently. before, any change in the coin holder would rattle as soon as i hit around 75 mph, thats when i knew it was time to let up on the gas and slow her down. i think ive saved myself from getting pulled over for speeding a few times because of the Tom Woods.
Now, tho... that vibration hasnt happened (knock on WOOD, no pun intended) and I drive maybe fifty miles highway 6 days a week...

i was going to ask others....how do you describe your vibration?

can you feel it through the shifter or CDL lever?

coin tray is an interesting one...might stick a few lincolns in there.

i would describe it as a rumble i could feel in the seat and could definitely hear due to the change shaking in the coin tray, but my coin tray will not stay closed so it just stays out all the time... either way i can now do 90 and i dont hear/feel that driveline vibration any more, its like it just decided to behave.

Man I wish I would have known this back in July. I put in a Tom Woods. A few weeks later when I drove at 75 mph, it sounded like it was coming apart. Now I know why. I kept the old drive shaft. I guess I see if I can get it rebuilt. Does balancing the Tom Woods help?
