i think it would help, but my driveline shop was a little "skeptical" of balancing someone else's shaft. doesn't hurt to call.

if you can't find a local shop, you can send your stock shaft to toddco (http://www.toddcosuspensions.com/) and they'll rebuild it within a day or two.

Weird that a driveline shop would say anything about balancing "someone else's" propshaft. They nearly all start out as someone else's.
My GBR rear DC shaft was out of balance when I got it and the local shop balanced it for me, no questions asked.

Ok guys I just purchased a Tom Woods driveshaft and wanted to get on this thread and voice that mine is great. I have no vibrations whatsoever at speeds all the way up to 90mph. So while i'm not saying the others are wrong in blaming the Tom Woods for being out of balance, I wouldn't generalize it that they are not for high speeds. I drive my on the interstate every day and have no problems.

If anyone is still watching this old thread, I ordered a Tom Woods today and will install over the weekend. I'll report back about the vibration as 90% of my driving is at freeway speeds. Talked to Tom himself today and he flat out said some have complained of vibration and he would return my cash if mine did. Refreshing to deal with an honest man. I have a 2003 DII.

I have had my TW DS for a while now and no vibrations whatsoever. Don't forget to grease the centering ball every oil change, it is a tough one to get to, had to remove the entire DS to grease it last time.

TW has a good set of instructions on his web site on maintenance. Wish more people would read it, maybe then they'd understand "a few pumps of grease once or twice a year" just doesn't cut it.

Damn...wish I would have seen this earlier. I just put a Tom Woods on this weekend then drove to a jobsite 160 miles away. Didn't have a real jarring vibration...but you could tell it wasn't as smooth at 70mph as it was with stock.

I'm curious to know if Oyster was able to get his rebalanced and if it worked? Or maybe I should give Mr Woods a call?
