Default Is red, black and white "gunk" build up bad?

I was poking around under the hood last night and noticed some red, black and white build up off the side of two hoses located right underneath the intake about the size of a golf ball(where a carberator would be) right on top of the engine block. There is also some build up, although smaller just below that area about the size of a marble.

It seems that this might be a bad thing, but I am not sure that this is, does anyone have any ideas? How do I fix it?

Your input would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Patrick

Rover offers an updated kit to repair that or you can by pass the t/body and connect the two hoses together. One way or the other do something before your coolant level drops too low.

It's dried coolant you are seeing. Fix it ASAP
