Default Relocating spare tire mount/larger tires

So I'm going to be refitting the correct 18" rims to my HSE that had been converted to 16" at some point. I'll be going with 32.1" tires and will need to address the spare tire fitment as it will interfere with the bumper. I've done some searching online and read about my options. I just want to run through it and see if I am getting it right and get input from anyone who has done this recently.
Other than the $100.+ options of buying an adapter, which I understand will not only raise the spare tire but space it out further from the rear door (not something I like) I see I can remove the existing spare tire holder and flip it. As I understand I will need to remove the rear door inner panel to gain access to the nuts. Re-drill the center holes on the holder for proper alignment, and cut out a slot/space for the rear wiper arm to sit level at rest. And when all is said and done, I will have room for 32" tires. Can anyone confirm that this will also move the spare slightly more to the left as well? Amount?
Do I have this about right? Thanks

I just loosened the bumper and used the slop in the fittings to let it sink down just enough to clear a larger tire. Not a big enough visual difference to notice. Looks and works great.

I can confirm the rotation of the tyre mount and the steps listed, however you don't necessarily need to cut a slot for the wiper arm. An alternative is to rotate the arm a couple of teeth on the drive pivot. That way you're not damaging the integrity of the mount.

Hey, I'm retired, I've got more time than money on my hands

Does that also space it OUT from the door as I understand it?

Yes, it does. That's why I avoided it.

My stock tire carrier was cracked around the top stud. I ended up buying a heavy duty tire carrier from
Lucky8. It will fit a 33” tire max but will be tight.

Yes, it moves the space tire out, and it's especially sticking out if you use the spacers rather than cutting the existing bolts. This combined with the larger tire size puts stress on both the spare tire mount and the door hinges.

AB: out and up.

the LK8 carrier I have is up and out too, but my 12.5 wide spare tire just barely keeps from rubbing on the rear door, so 285's are max unless you add some thick washers. These tires are 32.5 diameter and plenty of room above bumper..

I'd still just adjust the rear bumper to see if any modifications are needed. I fit a 265/75 just fine with no modifications and that's close to the tires size the OP is looking to fit.
