Default remote reservoir shocks?

No complaints, but most of the shock knowledge seems to be based off of offerings that have been available for the past 10-15 years and there seems to be some dissatisfaction with the fox shocks from lucky 8. I need some new shocks for my rig and am interested in some remote reservoir shocks. Has anyone dove into any offerings with king shocks or the old man emu bp-51 series? Why remote reservoir? Quite frankly seems like the best option for heavy washer board dirt roads with lots of braking bumps. I know it’s a disco, but the suspension is very similar to a Toyota 80 series and there are some really nice setups for them. FWIW I have a 2” lift but am planning on going up to a 4-5” to clear some 35”. Does anyone have any experience with the Terra firma remote reservoir shocks?

sorry for the explosion of thought, just looking to see if there are anymore modern shock options for these things.

bilstien 7100 with the remote resi. get them valved for your car and you won't be disappointed. I run them on my classic as well as all my wheeling buddies on their classics and don't think you can beat em.

I had the Fox shocks and hated them. That said the guy I sold them to loves them but he probably hauls around 500 lbs of gear or more all the time where I was pretty much empty and stock. They were way too stiff for me and didn't fit the best to be honest. I am extremely happy with my TF 4 way adjustable. You can tell they are lower quality but they ride really nice and are affordable. If you are willing to spend the money it would be hard to beat RTE tuned remote Bilstein.
