Default Removed Intake Manifold/Changed Lifters

As the title says I tore my wifes disco apart tonite, couldn't take the hammering knocking tick anymore. I was suprised by how clean it was, wasn't sure what it would look like in there. Had no service history when i bought it so expected the worst. There is hardly any sludge or gunk but there is a bit of the varnish look. Tried to post pics but they are too big and i don't know how to shrink them.

Did your tick not start until it was warmed up? What was your hot oil pressure at idle? Changing your lifters my not solve the problem I'm sure you know this.

Checked the oil pressure a few months ago and it was really good, don't remember the numbers. Noise starts after warming up. Can't call it a tick, way to loud. I wanted to get in and have a look anyway. If this doesn't help then I'll take the oil pan off and check liners.

Use a Photobucket.com or other type of account, then copy the "img code" and paste it into the thread.

Install a 180 degree thermostat, that stopped my engine ticking.

Got it back together and had her on a short test drive. Worked really bad till i found something unpluged, works better now. Little rough at idle but smooths out when revs increased. Coolant sys seems to be bled out, throwing lots of heat and didn't overheat.
Never found a really bad lifter so probably never cured the noise though.

If a tick is driven by low oil pressure, I.E lifters not staying pumped up at low idle, what are people who have this problem seeing for hot oil pressure?

I have about 10PSI and tick like crazy.

Will most likely replace bearings and rockershafts/arms along with cam and lifters when the weather warms here in the midwest.

If a damage free head gasket means I don't have a sleeve issue then I'm in good shape.

I am pretty sure my head gaskets are fine which is one of the reasons i changed the lifters. Can a sleeve slipping not damage the head gasket?

I had 25-30 psi at idle and 50-60 psi at 1500-2000 rpm if i remember right. I know it was good and i posted them on here. Might have to search for them.
