Default Removing the crankshaft sensor. Help

I got the P0335 so I'm trying to remove the sensor but the plug is out of reach. Can someone tell me the right procedure to get this thing out?
Thank you

When I did mine, I also couldn't get to it from the bottom. I eventually started looking at it from the top, and with a little help of a step stool (I'm 5'10") I could disconnect it from the top barely with my fingertips, and then connect the new plug.

Be sure to slide the plug out of the bracket holding it in place and disconnect the plug from the top. Very hard to get back in there unless you have tiny hands.

Do I need to remove the Y in order to reach this sensor. It is just intimidating how difficult it is to reach this thing.

No, you do not need to remove the y pipe. I unscrew everything from the bottom, and deal with the plug from the top.

I was able to do everything using one hand and 7mm and 8mm wrenches without removing the exhaust. I guess its up to you if you want to drop the y for better access. It would make it a lot easier but double your labor.

When I did mine I had my wife come to help because she had skinny arms and could reach up in there. I held the plug from the top while she plugged it in from below. It was a PITA in doubt about it. I did find that if a just removed the nuts connecting the y-pipe to the manifold on both sides and let it hang it gave me a little more room to get up in there.

I had to remove Y pipe... total PIA... I know other say it is easy, but I worked on it for hours with bloody knuckles and finally gave up and went the Y pipe route... which was still a PIA.

This is very important. Also, buy some 12" needlenose pliers to hold the plug with while you disconnect it with your free hand.

I did the whole job from underneath. It certainly is frustrating, but doable.

I'd hire a midget before I'd drop the Y pipe.
