Default Removing Dexcool

I will be removing the dexcool tomorrow along with flushing and replacing to a genuine 180 degree thermostat, does anyone have experience with the Lucas additive? I've seen the Royal Purple stuff and Redline's water wetter but, the Lucas stuff has good reviews and I've never had a problem any of their products.

Wait on the additive and see the results you get from flush, new coolant, and 180F stat. You can always add it later.

As an example, I put in water wetter and saw maybe 2 - 3 F change. The bottle says up to 6F change when running 50/50 coolant. Higher is just running water only (track).

The difference with the new stat is crazy, roughly 10 degrees cooler. The flush wasn't as complicated as I thought it could be.

Yup, everybody seems to get a 10 degree drop. Amazing. Change from a 190 to a 180 and temps go down 10 degrees. Go figure.

The Dex flush is a blast. I ended up with an impressive collection of orangey flushing water filled jugs I had to dispose of. By the way, I'd recommend pulling the two screws that hold your fan shroud to the top of the radiator and using cable ties instead. My radiator cracked in the screw hole and others have had the same issue.
