Default Removing Shifter ****?

I recently replaced the cover on my break lever (original had disintegrated); now I've removed the forward (H-L) shifter cover & floor bracket. How do I remove the shift **** so I can reinstall a replacement cover?

Appreciate any help;
Thanks,
Larry

LOL! I tried that - just didn't seem to be making progress.

Appreciate the quick reply,
Larry
