Hey guys im cruious as to which repair manual to get my 97 Disco, all my other vehicles I have gotten haynes but the only one i can find for Disco with haynes is for the 94/95 year only.. did they stop making them for Discos after that or something?

I also downloaded this RAVE pdf file, its helpful... somewhat.. im trying to find out where to grease the joints for my wheel ( the knuckles are very shiny ) and i dont want my wheels to freese or worse because of metal to metal rubing

 

If you are talking about your swivel joints, they are supposed to be very shinny. They havve grease inside that keeps the cv joints lubed.

I found a complete factory repair manual on Ebay...might check there..cost me around 60.00.

I believe the part that is shiny is the "Knuckle"

I use the Rave CD, and once you get used to how it works, you find that it really does cover everything. Then Whenever I have work to do, I print the pages I need and head to my garage.And you don't have toworry about the pages getting dirty.

 

I have the factory manual published by Bentley, but it could be a lot better. I'm not able to get all the info I really need out of it 30% of the time, and it can be difficult to locate what I am looking for. I always used to keep a Haynes around to supplement my shop manuals and for quick reference, but I found they are not as good as they once were. Still, all in all, a good value. The Haynes website doesn't list any manuals currently available for Rover, so the one you have for '94-95 is a keeper if not exactly what you need.

I wonder if it is out of print, or just not distributed through the normal channels in this country. I think I'll buy one even though my D1 is a '97.

 

I did notice that on ebay they have the service manuals on dvd/cd but im kind of afraid to get one cause it might just be the RAVE 3 i got which is free
