Default Repair shop in Michigan/Detroit Area?

I have an '01 Discovery with overheating/coolant loss issues. Any suggestions where to take for repair in the area would be great. Also, where should I go for a system pressure check to find out if/where engine is leaking coolant? Thanks.

If you have modest tech skills, like helping Dad when you were in high school....

Many parts store loan/rent pressure testers. Put it in the coolant bottle and pump up to 15 PSI, wait 30 minutes and watch for leaks.

If dash heat gauge is going higher than 50% you have a very significant problem.

Thanks for the quick response! I'll try your suggestions.

Also thanks for the coolant issue posts... reviewing now.

Never let it get low on coolant.

yep, would be checking daily until resolved, weekly after that. BTW, owner manual tells you to check oil level every 250 miles. So a weekly fluid check is a good habit to be in.

I used LRShops.com and used my old zip code (48315 Macomb, MI) to find a few of the shops that I remember doing Land Rover work. I don't remember too many of them, but I do know if you are willing to take a bit of a drive [to Almont], AluminumV8 seems to be well regarded as a Rover specialty shop.

Thanks everyone for the pointers. I try to be diligent with checking fluids.

ScreamingLife - I'll check out the the website and the shop.

BTW, my Discovery has over 249,000 miles... needless to say, I LOVE IT! Hope to keep it alive....
