Default Repairing/Replacing the Engine Compartment Fuse Box

Looking for some help on repairing or replacing the engine compartment fuse box in an '04 HSE.

There's lots of threads on the under dash fuse box, but nothing I can find on the engine compartment fuse box.

My fuse box got damaged as the result of a condenser motor failure detailed in this thread for anyone interested:

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...g-help-107431/

As best as I have been able to diagnose/figure, the wiring in the fuse box from the condenser fan 100A fuse to PIn5 of the condenser relay socket is fried, ie., it's an open circuit, no more continuity.

As I see it, I have two choices:

1. Repair the fuse box; or
2. Replace it.

So Question 1: Is the fuse box repairable, ie., if I remove it (help/steps/process on how to do so would be most appreciated), will I have access to the wire/circuit path that I have determined to have fried/failed?

If the answer to Question 1 is "NO" (maybe the backplane of the fuse box is sealed or otherwise inaccessible), then re. Question 2, can someone tell me whether the fuse box from '99-'04 is the same/interchangeable? I have an '04 HSE 4.7 engine, and if the boxes are the same over the D2 model run, then that greatly improves my chances of finding one in a junkyard.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I remember replacing the engine compartment fuse box on my '99. I was new to the truck and didn't even know about this forum yet. All I did was get a replacement off eBay and switch out all of the connections, starting with the battery. There didn't seem to be anything particularly nuanced about it, although there was a difference in how some of the main fusible links were attached.

Thanks.

Do you recall whether the wiring between the relays and fuses accessible from underneath.

And do you recall the search string you used on eBay to find a used one?

BTW, based on this eBay listing, it looks like the '99-'02 engine compartment fuse box is different from the '03-'04 version.

and based on the underside, looks like the '03-'04 engine compartment fuse box is not repairable (or at least not easily repairable).

I never tried to disassemble that fusebox, so I can't say if it's repairable. And given that the passenger fuseboxes are different for different year ranges, it seems reasonable that the engine bay fuseboxes are different as well.

Got a (good -- we'll see) used fuse box off eBay, will see what happens.
