replace a bumper?
I want to buy a LR disco, I've found one near me for $4000-ish (It's a 2000) but it's got a broken front bumper (the plastic edges), the ACE system has a leak but the guy's got new seals for it, and the motor for the passenger seat is broken.
I've found a replacement bumper for $250, but how much work would installing that be? is it something I could do with simple tools? or would I need a shop to do it?
Also, the ace system leak, bad?
Any idea on a seat motor?
Does this sound like a good deal? Or would it just be a mess?
Thanks.

The bumper is a 30 min swap start to finish, but you will need a helper.
The power seat switches go bad all the time, take the truck for a test drive without him.
Pop out the drivers side switch, plug it into the passengers side, does it work?
Probably yes.
Put it all back where it belongs, store that info for later and use the price of a new seat motor to lower the price.
As for the ACE leak, I have no idea.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it- I'm new to land rovers and I want to make sure I don't buy a pile of junk.
As for mileage- it's got ~123,000.
D2luvr- I'll ask them about the head gaskets and the front prop shaft. If it's a negative, pass this one up you think?
Spike555- Thanks for the tip on the seat switches. When you say pop the switches out, do the wires remove easily from the switch itself?
Thanks again guys.

what they said...If it needs a head gasket ..maybe not now but....you will...$1,500.00 on the low side. Dealer is double that. heaper if you can do yourself. I got my daughters DI 00 For $3,700.00 over a year ago so it's a bit high.. Offer him $3,500.00 and explain all the work your going to have to do and see his reaction. tell him you see collent on the engine and will need to do headgaskets....that may scare him into taking your offer..
Good luck, Chris
