Default Replace the CD/Radio..alarm issues?

This is my second post since joining and the information obtained here is priceless, which is as you know means much more than free

I want to replace the orginal cassette am/fm stereo with a Blaupunkt CD player purchased years ago at Costco. Is there an issue regarding the alarm system that I should know about?

not to sure about these lr but just make sure you get the proper wire harness for that car and you should be ok. you can get it at walmart or any stereo store for less than 10 bucks. your going to need the dash kit also.

Not available at Wal mart, but you can get a harness. Don't remember the link.

There is not an issue with the alarm if you do this. The Radio has a built in alarm and you will need the code to re-activate it if power is lost. It is internal only.

Here is an additional question. If the stock stereo is replaced, can the steering wheel controls still be utilized? (This is the ONLY reason that I haven't upgraded yet.)

Thanks in advance.
